Change is Welcome

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain. Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.

None of us knows what the next change is going to be, what unexpected opportunity is just around the corner, waiting a few months or a few years to change all the tenor of our lives. We live in a moment of history where change is so speeded up that we begin to see the present only when it is already disappearing.

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living. The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.

I Will Learn

I'm independent of good or bad opinions of others.

success

If I feel depressed, I will learn to cheer up.
If I feel sad, I will learn to laugh.
If I feel ill, I will learn to be healthy.
If I feel fear, I will learn to plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior, I will learn to look up to myself.
If I feel uncertain, I will learn to raise my voice.
If I feel poverty, I will learn to think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent, I will learn to think of my past success.
If I feel insignificant, I will learn to remember my goals.
I will learn to be the master of my emotions.
I will learn to change.

Change

Things change. People change. Rules change. The world changes. Desires change. Conditions change. Opinions change. Change is everywhere, all the time. What was certain yesterday, is different today, and will be something else tomorrow.

Think of the people you've known for a while. Do you really know them the way they are now, or do you still assume they're basically the same people they were years ago? Consider how many things in your life have changed in the last six months. what you've learned, how you've grown. Remember, everyone else changes too. That prospect who had no interest last month has changed since then.

Consider the implications this fast changing world. What assumptions are you making, that might no longer be valid? Embrace change and it will work for you. Resist change and the world will pass you by.

Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.

Is It?

Watch out for "is." It can be very limiting. Thinking and saying that something "is" a certain way, puts you in danger of ignoring all the other possibilities.

When you make a statement like "this is impossible" it cuts off all your options. Many things which once were considered impossible have now become routine. Rather than concluding that "this is impossible" try asking "what would make this possible?"

The next time you find yourself saying "this is" or "they are" or "I am" consider that there may indeed be many other possibilities. Rephrase the statement into a question and observe how it opens your mind. Instead of saying "I am no good at selling" ask "How can I improve my selling skills?" Instead of thinking "I'm an expert at Java" ask "What more could I learn about Java?

In a world where change is one of the few certainties, don't let yourself be trapped by "is." Open yourself to the possibilities.

Life is a succession of moments, to live each one is to succeed.

If you care

Have you ever tried to do something that you really don't care about doing? You might get through it, but it is difficult. You can easily come up with all sorts of excuses for avoiding it as long as possible. Any effort you put forth is indifferent and ineffective.

The way to be most effective at any task is to care about it. When you care, you put all you have into the effort. When you care, you find ways to do it better, and better ways to do it.

If you don't care about what you're doing, ask yourself why you're even doing it in the first place. There may indeed be a reason why you do care about it, that you just haven't realized. For example, if it's something related to your job, even though you don't care about the task, you probably care about your job. Or you care about your paycheck. Or you care about earning money to feed your family.

Either at some point there's a reason to care, or there's no reason to be doing it. Care about what you're doing and you become vastly more effective at getting it done. If you're going to make the effort, isn't that the best way to have it happen?

STAND IN FAITH

Stand in faith
Even when you can't see your way

Stand in faith
Even when you feel like you can't face another day

Stand in faith
Even when the tears want to flow from your eyes

Stand in faith
Knowing that our God will always provide

Stand in faith
Even when you feel that all hope is gone

Stand in faith
Knowing that He is always there for you to lean on

Stand in faith
Even when you feel like giving up

Stand in faith
Because He is there ... saying, "Just look up"

Stand in faith
Even in those times you feel so all alone

Stand in faith
Hold on and be strong, for He is still on the throne

Stand in faith
Even when it's hard to believe

Stand in Faith
Knowing that He can change your situation, suddenly

Stand in faith
Even in those times you feel it's hard to pray

Stand in faith
And believe that He has already made the way

Faith ... is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
So stand in faith

Because you already have the victory!
